Review on CARL HC-340 Metallic Medium-Duty 3 Hole Paper Punch with 40 Sheet Capacity by Sasha Hsiao

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Very easy for 25 sheets, pumps for 30+, love the fixed settings

PROS: - I like the FIXED POSITIONING of the punches and paper guide. The positioning places my 8-1/2x11 right in the middle of the bindings I use, the hole placement works great, not too close to the edge or the text of the prints themselves. Of course, there's no chance I or, in the case of the Post, others messed up some settings since they're not here. - It can easily cut through 40 sheets of 20-gauge carbon paper, but you have to press a little on the top of the handle from 30 sheets. Basically, you're pumping multiple times, probably relying on your weight to keep you from overexerting yourself. It can cut through 25 sheets of 20# copy paper very easily with sharp, clean hole punches. Sheets of paper do not move at all during punching, even when stacked in a stack of 40 sheets of 20# size. - A 1960s metal office accessory has a sturdy feel. CONS: - When you punch a large number of paper holes and do it 25 sheets at a time. is not efficient enough for you, you can look for a heavy duty punch to punch 30-40 or more sheets at a time. If I knew one, I would mention it here. Of course, if you know you need to adjust the holes or paper position, this isn't for you. If it's for the office, consider it for most punch jobs and an adjustable one for unusual needs. DURABILITY: - I've only had it for a few days so can't speak to longevity. It seems solid, I'll update this review if there are any problems in the future, but it will be very easy to use. The full model number HC-340 is listed in the cross reference box. Hope this helps someone. This is great for my needs.
