When the keycap labels on my (slightly expensive) mechanical keyboard wore out, I needed to replace the keycaps. They can be removed with your fingers or pliers, but this requires considerable force and there is a chance of damaging the keycaps. This tool makes the process almost easy. The wires slide along the bottom edges of the keycaps, and pulling up releases them. Even if you don't replace the keycaps, you may still need to clean your keyboard from time to time. The included brushes make this task easier. Beneath most of them was a pile of dust and animal hair.
