These work great. I purchased one in black and one in the blue marbly swirl pattern. Straps are decently strong, clips are plastic.Great when hiking short distances or long walks w/our three dogs. While out I can carry a cold water for me & hubby to share and a bottle for the dogs. Hubby wears his thru his belt loops and I carry mine around my neck. As far as one review saying it scratched his neck? It was a little rough but didn't notice that much. I usually have a bandana on or "something" on that keeps the strap away from my skin. Might be different if time worn was lengthier, so can't rule that description out completely.They're not bulky or a hinderance in anyway that I have noticed thus far. They hold a 16oz water bottle perfectly. as well as a longnecker ;-D
