My dog is a 20lb Chihuahua mix. When outside, she barks at passers-by over the fence. Sometimes she barks at passers-by from the window in our living room. She doesn't stop until they're out of sight. This device definitely worked to keep the barking at bay. The instructions were fine except there was nothing that explains the assembly of the collar itself, but I figured it out. I'm concerned the collar will be too slippery and might detach from a roughly playing dog, but my dog is sedentary so hopefully that won't be a problem. If I had a more active dog I would probably buy a separate collar to put the device on.
