That's exactly what you expect from a T50 stapler or medium stapler.
This article will make you beat yourself up for using these mechanical staplers for as long as you have it. You don't have to worry about crowns remaining above your staple surface - this thing is much more likely to sink the staple than not at least make it flush with the surface. The only downside is lugging around the air hose and compressor during use, but a small price to pay for a job well done.
