Review on 🔋 Efficient Tenergy T9688 Universal LCD Battery Charger with 8 UL Certified D Size 10000mAh NiMH Rechargeable Batteries by Luz Rojas

Either this charger is defective or the batteries are defective or both. I put 4 D size batteries in for charging and after 6 hours they were still not charged. There was also a burning smell and some smoke. So I turned it off to let it cool down. After it cooled down, I decided to try again. After another 6 hours, the display showed that the batteries were fully charged. I tried to get them out but the batteries were too hot to touch so I had to use a rag to get them out. I pulled out my temperature gun and the batteries were almost 150 degrees Fahrenheit. After letting them cool for a good hour I put one back in to see if it was full and the display only showed one bar and started charging the same batteries again. I did this with four initially fully charged batteries and when I put them back in the charger they all showed the same bar. So I don't know if the batteries aren't holding a charge or if the charger is defective and not reading properly. Also, the backlight button doesn't work and the discharge button doesn't work either. I couldn't get it to unload. Dangerous product that must be left unattended as the risk of fire is too high.
