Initially it is probably set to a Comcast cable box. However, it didn't work for me at all and I couldn't change the code for the cable TV button. After calling Comcast, learn how to first unlock the cable box code on the remote, then change the cable box code, then lock the cable box code again. I was able to code my Samsung TV myself before calling Comcast. The volume button works, but not when you press and hold it. Strange. My old remote works the same way, but this new one doesn't. Maybe I'll try other codes for Samsung TVs to see if that solves the volume button issue, otherwise I'll be returning this remote. UPDATE: I have confirmed that I need to switch to a different Samsung TV code for the volume button to work properly. .The battery cover of this remote control is really loose and falls off easily and often.
