IT'S COOL! It's the only place I go hunting when I get back to my truck trail crossing the creek in the dark of night. At different times of the year you may not be able to cross at the usual point of the trail. When I've highlighted a specific key tree, the alternate path is next to the geodesic band. Unfortunately. Another person walked in and decided he didn't like the ribbon on the damn tree and took it off. probably DON'T THINK that some poor guy would come back in the middle of the night with maybe 100+ pounds on his back, knee pain and exhausted as hell and be relying on that tape marker to guide him home! (A-holios!) GOOD. I'm here to tell you what uses those buttons instead. Not only are they much prettier and easier to spot from afar in your headlight, even with its dimmer beam. BUT. Since they are so small and harmless on the tree, these same people don't seem to mind leaving them there and not taking them off since the markings I put there stay for months. And I REALLY appreciate them being there, because the night that inspired me to put them there, I first caught myself in the middle of the damn night looking for that damn alternate path when it it is much more difficult to distinguish one oak from another. especially if you last saw him 2 days and 10 miles ago. (Guys, seriously, make sure there are no cars at the beginning of the trail before you get up and decide to remove the tape from the trail, for goodness sake! "Damn, did you think so?"
