Great range finder for $80. The only. It seems that pen lock mode and tilt mode are the same thing. If you want to use this at a golf tournament you can fire the M1, but there's no pin/vibration lock. The performance and accuracy in all modes was exceptional compared to my buddy's accuracy. I wanted batteries under 100. While the case feels a bit flimsy, the keys feel solid. If you're good at setting up a mode, go for it. M1 = Capture distance (no pen/vibration lock), hold to scan M2 = Pen lock with tilt/vibration M3 = Speed
