Current production of this phone has a common issue

I've had one of these for a few years and it works great. I recently bought another for another room in my house and found that its internal clock function was losing time many minutes a day. Thinking it was a defect with my new purchase, I sent the phone back and asked for a replacement. The replacement did the same! Then I saw what was going on: with every incoming call, the phone clock was one minute slow. The more calls come in, the greater the loss. This is clearly a design flaw. Doesn't the factory test their built-in firmware before releasing it in the field? My old copy of this phone works fine. Don't buy this phone until the factory fixes this design issue. Too bad there is no way of knowing when this will happen. I am returning a replacement for my recently purchased phone and choosing an alternative phone. Come on AT&T, you can do better. Update: I bought a similar phone, model RCA 1113. The RCA phone has a clock function built in, but the user cannot set the date/time. For incoming calls, RCA sets the date/time using the data sent as part of the incoming call's Caller ID information - there is no user interaction. Apparently my local ISP (Cox, via VoIP) mistimed their network clock, 11 minutes behind as shown on the RCA phone. It is possible (this is a guess) that AT&T phones are slowly adjusting to this incorrect network clock reference. I haven't kept my most recent AT&T phones (both original and replacement) long enough to determine if they would stop wasting time after aligning themselves with this incorrect network connection, but it very well might be the case. If new phones use this mechanism, their instructions should include a description of the process and an explanation that if the network clock is wrong, the phone will display the wrong time. This feature is supposed to be smart, but it may have unforeseen consequences.
