I didn't notice any backlight distortion, and physically everything looked fine. There are no physical defects visible. When I tried to watch a movie, I noticed a red pixel in the center of the screen even though the background was black. I would still give the monitor 5 stars if the red pixel was somewhere inconspicuous and not in the dead center of the screen. It's pretty annoying when playing games when I notice a red pixel. I bought a used item like new. This defect should at least have been pointed out in the product. I would rather accept a monitor with a minor blemish than one with a defect in the screen. Guess I just have to live with it.
