Small, light buttons can be confusing

The device is a bit small, but most of it fits into a single box. Easy to connect and does a good job of remotely controlling the ceiling fan/light in my office. The first confusion was the backlight buttons. Above are two of them. When I bought this unit I thought it would be used for the light dimming function - press the top button to increase the brightness, press and hold the bottom button to decrease the brightness, etc. No. I haven't seen that, but I think Emerson sells fans with two bulbs and that's what they control. I have one of these fans in my master bedroom, but it's not an Emerson. It has an "upper" light and a "lower" light. Yes, that's what these buttons are for. Since my Emerson fan only has one lightbulb, the bottom lightbulb button controls it. Click once to turn it on, click once to turn it off. Press and hold to control dimming provided your fan has this feature. I thought it was a bit pricey, but didn't want the handheld remote to be attached to my wall, so I wanted something that used an existing junction box, which it does. It comes with multiple bezels: White, Off-White, and Almond. It may come with another, I don't remember. I've been using this device for a month and a half and haven't had any problems with it. The knobs/dials seem small but other than that it does what it's supposed to do and I like that.
