I've thought long and hard about whether to go for a portfolio style case or a tri fold case. Finally, I didn't want to bother with having to pull part of the iPad out to keep it in one of the slots while traveling. Taking the mini out and putting it back in the suitcase all the time would cause unnecessary stress. Plus, with a triple cap and a mini case that always stays in the case, you don't have to worry about the microphones or cameras on the back ever being blocked as long as all the cutouts line up. Finally, I'm not sure if I'll get a pencil yet, so I wanted a case with a pen loop for a future professor. At the time, it was one of the few cases available that fit the bill. All cutouts fit perfectly. I can easily press all switches, speakers, microphone and camera are well spaced. The appearance has beautiful texture, easy to grip and will not slip out of hands. With an iPad mini in a case, it feels slightly heavier than a Leuchtturm 1917 A5 magazine. Time will tell how well it holds up, but for now I'm pleasantly surprised.
