Review on ๐ŸŽฎ Enhanced Simon 1897 Digital Memory Game by Jared Peck

Revainrating 5 out of 5

An old childhood favorite and better than I expected

I got the original Simon in the mid 80's when I was a little kid and my sister and I wore it out trying to outperform each other. I wanted to pass the same joy on to my little four year old son and decided to buy this updated version of Revain. I read a lot of reviews and was a bit skeptical to buy it because many commented that the colors use a new touch sensor that isn't as sensitive or it crashes often. (For those who don't know how the game works, it first lights up one of the four arcs on the circle. The child then mimics this by touching the corresponding arc. Simon then repeats the original color but adds one more added ... and etc. until it becomes very difficult for a child (or an adult) to remember the pattern) Simon arrived well from the carrier, and so far, after two months (knock on wood), this one does modern version of Simon Gut. Unlike the old version, which had large plastic flower snaps, this version only requires a light touch of the appropriate color to follow a random pattern. My little son got the idea with no problem and was having fun in two minutes. I haven't had any issues with the touch sensors yet, but the Simon is more sensitive (and works better) when placed on a hard surface. The game is slightly less sensitive when placed on a carpet or soft object. Otherwise Simon was great and even includes new modes that didn't exist in the 1980s. So far very satisfied and five stars!
