When I bought this kettle I was looking for a kettle that could boil water. It said it was oven safe but apparently they meant something else. The directions are such that you pour boiling water in instead of heating it on the stove. This is very thin glass and I'm sure it will break on the stove. The owner contacted me and assured me that although the kettle looks fragile it would work fine on the stove. I have already given the kettle as a gift, so I have no personal experience with it. This is a nice kettle and I would consider buying another one. UPDATE: The company contacted me and kindly sent me another very nice tea set with tea. and warmer. Now that I know it can be reheated on the stove, I love it!
