Our 13 year old cat had some problems with his ears which would not heal due to his scratches. We had a plastic cone that we had to cut off so he could eat and drink from the vet, but he still found the edges of boxes or chairs to scratch and reopen his wounds. So I went on a search and found some lovely e-collars, but many of them didn't prevent scratches. Even cones. Watched, laughed and read the questions and comments about whether the hind legs can reach the ears. I read it's not allowed so I ordered it as a test. This plastic cone was too much. We had it on for about 24 hours. Here are my findings. 1.) Can absolutely drink and eat without wrestling a donut 2.) He looks like an adorable nerd! 3.) He tries very hard to reach his scratchy ear and gets angry because he can't reach it! 4.) Did I mention he looks like a charming nerd?!? 5.) Much easier to get to his ear for treatment. The scratching was our biggest concern. Once he reaches that ear, it's like a bloodbath in every area he walks through, shaking his head. It was a huge fight! So much so that I've had to cancel vacation plans because I don't feel I should let my daughters watch while we're away. You might panic and I just don't feel comfortable leaving him until his scab has healed! So right now I'm very happy. He hasn't cracked the scab yet. And though he's trying, he hasn't arrived yet. Easy donut. Who knew?! Here is HIS take on it! So my mom gave me this silly thing to wear around my neck. She keeps laughing at me and I'm really shy about it. Now it gets to my ears a lot easier and I HATE IT! Leave my ears alone! (grunt) But my mother was right. Now I can eat better and I don't make a mess. But I can't scratch my ear! It makes me crazy! Mom keeps scolding me for trying so I'm determined to get to that itch if it's killing me, but that thing on my neck won't let me! Anyone wanna give me some advice? She just doesn't listen to me! Oh and my 2 brothers and 2 sisters make fun of me all the time. Hm. Well, I have a thing for everyone! I brought a permanent pillow with me, so here it is! Bow!
