First, they're not the best option out there, they're sold under a specific aftermarket brand and cost around $350. But in this price range they work great. Light output and range are significantly better than the factory D5S bulb in my 2018 Equinox LT. (Note that new Premier/LTZ Chevy vehicles come factory LED and can't be upgraded, but LT models with D5S HID can.) Factory bulbs are fine until it rains... only 2200 lumens, though brighter than halogen, they are not bright enough for high-rising vehicles such as trucks and SUVs. Seconds longer to reach full warm-up, mainly due to their cooler color and higher power output. So plan for this if you start at night. Just a 10 watt upgrade increases the light output by about 50% (2200 from the factory vs 3300 now) and it's immediately noticeable, and the 'cooler' color of the light offers much better contrast to signs, lines and objects the street. The lamp is difficult to replace on the equinox for reasons of space. Remove the airbox on the passenger side and that side is easy, but the battery makes the driver's side more frustrating. If I had to do it again I would probably take the battery out before starting. The lights tend to flash momentarily when Autostop/Start restarts the engine. Of course they have more power than stock and the vehicle isn't giving them enough power to keep them on, but I can just flip the switch to range mode, put it in top gear and then autostop is off and that is how I drive, it is most of the time anyway. It's likely that the LED versions will fix this problem, but I don't want the dark spot in my light field that they create. Overall I'm very pleased, it will now be much easier to see the animals here in the Ohio countryside. . Knowing that the seller gives a lifetime guarantee is also very nice. :)
