Review on 🌊 Enhanced Filtration with Fluval G3 Fine Pre-Filter Cartridge by Monica Hale

I bought these to replace the original pre-filter cartridge and to experiment with their effect on water flow in a lightly planted tank using 2 packs of Flourite Black Sand as a substrate. Well after almost a month of use I haven't had any negative issues with clogging or slower flow rates. I can confirm that this cartridge is much better than the alternative version. Yes it comes through well and if I disturb the substrate it quickly filters out the haze in less than 2 hours. I know other reviewers complain about having to change and maintain this filter frequently. If your particular setup is causing this, install a pre-filter on the inlet hose to limit the amount of large debris that accumulates in this impressive cartridge. My aquarium is loaded with almost 30 pounds of Seachem Flourite Black Sand and this fine filter lasts at least 10-12 days between water changes. Maybe if I wanted to, I could nurture this baby for 3 weeks and still get excellent purified water! I look forward to keeping this cartridge for at least 2 months. The original pre-filter only lasted a few weeks before its usefulness diminished. I think only time will tell the ultimate results.
