Review on Hygger Spectrum Extendable Controller Freshwater by Jermaine Logan

Revainrating 4 out of 5

PAR per dollar is great value. Kelvin has a slight purple hue.

I actually only left the light on my planted aquarium for 5 minutes because this Hygger light had a slight purple tint next to another planted aquarium that was definitely noticeable in person. There is no photo because the phone's camera couldn't take it. The timer is pretty much useless at 3/6/12 hours and will NOT turn off when the timer is running. Instead, after the time has elapsed, it decreases to 10% and then returns to any brightness setting. Switching between brightness levels is also inconvenient. 10%-100%-10%. If it makes sense The general build quality is really good. And I love that it is advertised as "waterproof". Comes with 2 styles of mounts, although plastic mounts that look like Finnex will not fit a 20" tank. I can't think of anything else since I only used it for 5 minutes. I was so annoyed by the purple shade that I sent it back. Generally a good competitor to Nicrew. But I'm sticking with Nicrew Classic LED PLUS as it's also full spectrum. (Note: the included power adapter is a smaller 2.0mm standard, not 2.5mm.) Addendum: Tried this unit again. ATTENTION TO THE BUYER. NO BAD LIGHT, JUST QWERKY. Some information before buying. The dimmer/timer has no internal memory. Example: If the power goes out, it will default to maximum brightness and ALL will light up. Therefore, you cannot use this device for a client timer. (mechanical or intelligent) UNDERSTRESS: When you turn off the device, it defaults to maximum brightness of ALL lights when set up. So if you just set the color to white, by default ALL the lights are on. Same goes for the internal timer, when your house runs out of power it has NO internal memory to save the previous settings. The only reason I'm emphasizing this is because I was trying to use the built in smart timer dimmer. And that's not how it will work. Another note: there are more blue LEDs than red ones. What happens when you mix a lot of blue with a little red? VIOLET. This lamp has a violet hue. It may bother you, it may not bother you. I was going to return it but decided to keep it for my quarantine aquarium.
