Review on πŸ’‘ Halo RL560WH6930R Retrofit LED Downlight in 3000K Warm White by Ricky Habbani

I bought these lights for three reasons. First, they're from Halo, and my review of the reviews on this site shows that Halo is able to use better components than many others. Second, they can replace old or burned mounts in cans with spring clips AND cans without spring clips. Third, some of these lights were available at a significant discount from Revain and I was fortunate to have this source. When the first one arrived I had to install it in a jar that didn't have spring clamps so I started by loosening the two screws holding the springs to the mount - the screws are tight as they should be. Then there are three paddle springs in the bag and I installed them in grooves on three pivoting metal members that are riveted to the back of the bracket. to slide them far enough to click them and I couldn't get them all the way into the slots by hand so I had to use pliers. Then the plug and wire connecting the removed mount to the threaded socket in the jar were in place, and their plug fitted into the new mount. The mount worked well, so I ended up twisting the leaf springs all the way and inserting the mount into the glass: it fully popped up with no difficulty. Upon subsequent removal, twisting the bracket will cause the blades to rotate inward, loosening the grip on the can, allowing the bracket to fall out. For now it's a winner at a great price. Haven't tried this contraption on my spring cans yet. And I can't comment on the electrical durability of this unit or its ability to dim as it is brand new and does not have a dimmer circuit.
