Although these dance shorts should be short and tight, they take it to the next level. Size 6-8 fitted my petite 40 lb 6 year old as it should but they looked more like my average sized 70 lb 8 year old underwear. You definitely need to order by size unless oversized shorts are your ultimate goal.
