who knew UPDATE in cheese slicer

I saw the movie last week - part fever - oh. Well, particles, physics, etc. and what should appear in one of the scenes, but that's a wonderful device that I've never seen before. I researched like a bunny and found what I liked - with a marble base - and now I'm enjoying the sweet, curly cheese pieces. They melt on your toast and look great on a small plate at a buffet table. And here's the thing: you don't have to use gourmet cheese for this. Here's what you'll need: something in the shape of a wheel - I used Trader Joe's Smoked Gouda - and you need to make sure it's nice and cold - I left it on a stick in the fridge overnight or until set. low 40s F. Now you need to forget about forcing anything. Don't push him or move too fast. Heck, I forgot to cover mine and it ripped, but I put a large rubber band around the base and just held it with my left hand. Kitchenknife. I'll probably use it for a while until something else comes along to distract me, but in the meantime it's a great little tool! something like that) with 'Tete de Moine' cheese (this is a seasonal product - coming in late autumn, but I got the last one by a happy coincidence). I'm sure other cheeses like Petit Basque or Edam work just as well as Gouda, but Tete de Moine rocks! Took this whole contraption to the party with us and it was a real hit! Everyone admired the delicate taste of shaved curls that look so beautiful on a plate of crackers. I also made some balsamic vinegar to drizzle on my plate - great flavor combination!
