I thought it was all double sided velcro but velcro is only present at the ends of the strips making velcro impossible for small items. The smaller velcro straps don't even work properly because of this design and because of this most of these straps go unused unless the size of what I'm tying matches the length of the straps exactly. This means that trying to tighten something often fails horribly because you overtighten or overtighten the velcro and it won't stick, or if it does it will be incredibly loose, defeating the purpose of the velcro and the design power .
