For such a compact speaker package, the Bose S1 Pro delivers great sound. And it's nice to get such great sound without having to plug it into an outlet. The reason for 3 stars instead of 5 is due to an unexplained battery drain issue. When I received my first device I fully charged it. I listened to it for several minutes. I then put it on standby and put it back in the box for a week. When I turned it on after a week on standby, the battery was completely dead. I contacted Bose support and explained the problem. Part of me expected the rep to tell me this was normal, although it would be surprising to hear such a thing. However, the effect of the repetitions seemed to indicate that the battery should not have been drained in this way. He made arrangements to send me a replacement. A few days later I received a replacement and was given a shipping label to return the unit I originally purchased. The spare speaker also runs out of energy in standby mode. And while the battery on the second device doesn't drain as quickly as the first, I'm concerned about long-term reliability. I hope Bose finds out what's going on soon and fixes this issue. I'd like to buy another one, but I'm not comfortable with it at the moment. In the meantime, I'll make sure my S1 is fully charged before playing and hope there are no unexpected crashes.
