I really embraced the idea of paper baking because of the recyclability and shipping weight, which I've done A LOT this holiday season. I had to take out the prepared product - a tropical fruit cupcake - and carefully cover the pan with plastic wrap so that the intoxicating (yes, intoxicating) cupcakes in rum didn't spill anywhere. Learned this the hard way. Great for non-drinkers, but if you're drunk then I definitely recommend foil pots over paper pots. For the future, plastic lids are great for local gifts, but totally overkill for preparing for long-distance shipping. They smooth.
