The material is smooth and durable. The wallet is very tight, so don't worry about the cards slipping out. BUT, it's so tight that it's difficult to pull out 1 card when I have 5 in the body. Not recommended if you frequently draw debit cards among 5 other cards. The clip is detachable but that's probably the best feature, great for badges or other cards. I'm very happy with the purchase as I have a phone for billing payments and don't often have to pull the cards out of the body.
