Review on Immerse in Audio Excellence with Paradigm Monitor SE3000F Floor Standing Speaker - Matte Black Single by Tom Lantz

Much better speaker for not much more money

Good speakers are expensive but we all WANT great speakers. They sound great, especially for the price. My setup is primarily for a 16x20 room home theater (two Paradigm SE 3000F floorstanding speakers, a Klipsch 504C center speaker, two Paradigm Monitor SE Atom surround speakers and a SVS-PB 2000 subwoofer). Due to the home cinema focus, I invested a little more money in a Klipsch 504C center speaker for a clean voice track. I've tried several speaker combinations but this setup is my favourite. It's well balanced, clean without being harsh, packs a pretty decent punch from both the SVS subwoofer and the Paradigm floorstanding speakers, and fills the room well without having to crank the volume up too much. I connected the speakers to an Onkyo 110Wx7 AV Receiver and set them up as 5.1. While I would have preferred a Denon AV unit for a number of reasons, they were not available at the time. The Onkyo unit was fairly easy to set up, with a few speaker level adjustments to balance the sound in the room. The setup does an excellent job of providing quality sound for most of the main areas in the room. As a home theater system for the money, this system would be hard to beat. When I switch to music and set the AV box to stereo, the sound is still pretty good, although this setting is best for home theater. If my primary use case was music, I would save some money by buying a cheaper center speaker and upgrading the subwoofer to an SB-3000 (or maybe a PB-3000 if I still watch quite a lot of movies) and maybe even upgrade it Upgrade your floorstanding speakers to the Paradigm SE-6000f. Overall, I'm very happy with the Paradigm SE 3000f. They're good enough for music and do an incredible job as part of a very good home theater setup.
