Review on KEF Q250C Center Channel Speaker (Each by Steven Emberling

Revainrating 5 out of 5

This is the "budget " center channel we/YOU have been looking for!

In my personal opinion one of the most effective center channels. I'm not a music lover but I can tell you what I like/like and for me it's the KEF Q-Series. The Q250c paired with the Q150 bookshelf speakers is a dream come true for the price ($300-$450 retail/refurbished). I was able to compare ELAC Debut 2.0 c5.2, Polk Audio s35, Klipsch rp440c and even the old Onkyo THX series center channel. The KEF Q250c crushed them all. Bass response is fast, tight and thunderous! The mids are rich, deep and warm (nicely warm, not muted!). The highs/trebles are crystal clear, the vocals are amazing and sound real if that makes sense. Most importantly, this KEF q250c DON'T TIRY MY EARS! Find a seller that allows free returns and just buy it. You won't need to replace this set for many years. Is it as cheap as other brands? no BUT this is the budget upgrade we've all been looking for, so trust me when I say spend an extra $100 on that center channel or even bookshelf speakers.

Pros
  • The Q250c is available in smooth, matte black, white vinyl and walnut finishes.
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

Really is a great center channel. Works well with my Dolby 7.2 atmos system.
