Warm safety

These gloves are for my husband. He wrote this review. I bought them because I needed a new pair of warm gloves. The ski gloves I used were worn out. These gloves are very good but not great. They keep my hands warm under normal circumstances. I recently wore them at 30F for an hour. I have yet to test them at lower temperatures, although I suspect the 150g Thinsulate will be suitable for prolonged use in colder conditions. My issues with these gloves are the size, texture, and tags/protrusions. As you can see from the photo, my hand is not small, but it is not huge either. According to the measurement guide, if I'm 9ΒΌ inches in circumference at the widest point at the base of my toes, I should wear one size larger. I knew from experience that I needed at least XL, but even those weren't big enough. I could have put XL on my hands but they were tight on my fingers meaning circulation was a bit restricted and my fingers were cold. What you see in the photo is XXL. Although something in between might be perfect for my hands. , Size XXL fits me better, unfortunately the elastic band doesn't tighten the glove tight enough on the wrist, so the gloves don't hold on my hands as well as I would like, the gloves are quite smooth. There is a slight texture but they are more slippery than I would like. I can't hold my already slightly slippery steering wheel the way I'd like. In cooler weather I wear unlined suede gloves and they do the job perfectly. same steering wheel. Finally, there is a 3M Thinsulate label and tabs sewn into the base of each glove to attach to packaging. Cutting the latter is not difficult, but annoying that they have to be cut off gloves so that they do not rub on the lower part of the wrists. More importantly, there is an oversized silver 3M Thinsulate tab on the outseam of the left glove. I cropped it as best as I could, but you can see in my photo that there is still a little bit visible. Isn't it enough that the gloves were stuffed with insulation information? Carhart, was it worth putting such a large contrast ad on the gloves themselves? I have no idea how long these gloves will last. I don't wear them long enough. Finally, I should note that my gloves are all black. The photos show a gray hem at the seams and gray stitching. The photos also show a wider elastic with side seams on the wrist than my gloves. I have no idea if my gloves are newer or older than the ones on the list, but they are definitely different. This also means that my texture can also be different than what is currently shown in the listing.
