Excellent hand tool caulking gun

I have NEVER used a caulking gun before but the Bates gun made it so easy to use. I impressed myself by making the call I needed to make. If you need a hunting gun, be sure to buy Bates!

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Almost never

Good quality for the price, pull lever with one hand

Pistol cocked, works well. The handle is designed to be pulled back so it releases as soon as you pull the handle. My other shotguns require the bolt to be pushed down to allow the lever to be pulled. This is a small design difference.

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • Only available in black

It doesn't seem like much.

Good for the price but slides and pushes poorly on thick compounds and requires constant pulling back and trying again. but it's cheap so probably doesn't fit in condiment bottles like ketchup or mustard either and is limited to capping tubes :-(

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Empty

Inexpensive and does the job

The Bates caulking gun works smoothly with no pops and clicks like similar devices. It is lightweight and requires less effort when applying silicone or sealant. Just make sure your silicone or sealant is fresh. The old sealant hardens and the exit from the pipe is not smooth.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Poorly thought out

Makes applying caulking easier

The paint kit included an old caulking gun that was a nightmare to use. All types of joints can be easily applied with this caulking gun. I've used it to apply silicone window sealant, concrete/plaster crack repair sealant, bathtub silicone sealant. The gun is easy to retract and load sealant, simply direct sealant into cracks and in a straight line. Love is worth every penny.

Pros
  • Power and hand tools
Cons
  • Some bugs

Quick Returns: Power & Hand Tools

This caulking gun won't even fit through a tube of cartridge. About halfway through, the gun rod stopped extruding sealant. If you inflate the pen far enough then some sealant will come out, but of course you won't be able to glue a line that straight. I can't tell if it's just really bad design or if I just got a bad example. In any case, I was lucky to find out about this before 30 days had passed. Thank you Amazon for your return policy!

Pros
  • Hand Tools
Cons
  • Small Parts

Not worth the headache

I bought this to replace a worn out caulking gun. When he arrived everything seemed fine until about 45-50ft hit 70ft. The pressure/friction plate started to fail and I couldn't pull the trigger other than 1/4 because it didn't go all the way into the push rod. Instead of releasing the trigger to get a new full trigger pull, I could now only get 1/4, or in other words only 1/4 full trigger pull. Shortly thereafter, the pressure plate was barely holding the bar. There are good pressure plate…

Pros
  • Tools and Housewares
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
