To be honest this is my first car with a cabin filter. The filter I replaced was on a 2014 Elantra 1.8L sedan. I went to my local dealership in Arizona and changed the oil. Recommend replacing the cabin filter. But at a price of $69.95. I certainly didn't pay for it! So I went to Revain and found this one for a small part of it. How easy is the installation? I found it out in my driveway at night with a flashlight on my phone. Just open the glove compartment. If you delete all content first, things will be easier. Look for 2 knobs on each side. Rotate both 180 degrees and they should pop out. Set them aside and don't waste them. Now you can tilt the glove box forward. Grab a flashlight and you should see two tabs and a valve. The damper is designed for airflow. Squeeze both tabs at the same time and gently pull. The cover will come off and you can slide the old filter towards you to remove it. There is an airflow arrow on the side. Pay attention to where the arrow is pointing and the new filter will work the same way. Installation is the reverse of removal. I believe this applies to Elantra from 2012 to 2016. This may be similar on some Kia models as well.
