I bought this for my 2 year old grandson because he LOVES garbage trucks. He loves to play with it but I only gave it 3 stars because he can lift the bin and dump the garbage into the truck. Big disappointment. Firstly the can lift mechanism is spring loaded and even I have a hard time pushing it down to engage and once it's on and the can is secured when the button is pressed to release it will catapult the can. so fast that it flies over the truck instead of dropping it into the truck. The hinges on the bins are very weak, one has already broken. But he likes to play with it, he just puts things in the top of the truck through the hole and throws them out. Despite these issues, he still enjoys playing with him so much that I still feel my money's worth. If you're just buying it for the mechanical reset feature, then this isn't the truck you want.
