I got my first rooster for Christmas along with a 1/2 gallon aquarium. After my research and complacency, it became clear that a 0.5 gallon tank is cruel. I needed to upgrade my tank but wanted to save up and do some research before buying the whole rig. My little fella is only about 1 inch long (not including fins) so that should be enough for a while. No, not skinny. Holds water well. I like the unique shape. Now the cons; The ground is not flat. You need more substrate. It is best to set it up on a leveling mat or on a thin cushion. I used a small piece of cardboard. There is no top. The company shows this on their website with the top, but I couldn't find it for sale anywhere. My rooster has never jumped, but I keep the water below the surface to be safe. I recently installed a small 25 watt heater with no problems. I've only had it for about 2 weeks so can't tell if it will be opaque like others have mentioned. Overall very happy with this purchase. Inexpensive grow tank, weekly water changes/cleaning is still easy to manage. It also makes a great gift if you know the rooster needs a bigger home.
