Review on 🪵 REXBETI Heat Treated Woodworking Carpenter Sharpening by Jason Dahlkemper

Revainrating 3 out of 5

You get what you pay for.

Advantages: Good, simple, complete chisel set with grinding accessories. Nice bag that keeps everything organized and protected. Good, solid weight of the bits. Affordable price. Disadvantages: Noticeably porous metal, small cavities on all chisels. Dents, nicks and fall damage on half of the chisel edges. The grinds on two chisel edges are not even at a 90° angle to the blade, they are ground clearly crooked. It will take hours of manual labor or professional resharpening to get them even and sharp. Bottom Line: As with all tools, you get what you pay for. If you're looking for a cheap starter set of chisels with a wide range of sizes, a carrying case and some basic sharpening tools, these are great value, but be aware that if you use them with any skill or frequency, you will have to work hard on them to make them usable as they are very crude by nature. Also be aware that they will never be quite perfect as the porosity of the castings is very noticeable and you will inevitably encounter pores near the cut edges. Honestly, I would happily pay double for a similar set. with parts and bodies that at least had high quality metal castings, but I tried them first based on feedback. Live and learn I guess.

Cons
