The connection to my RV stairs suddenly broke one day and the stairs stopped working; This kit was inexpensive and only took a few minutes to install. The overlay from the kit didn't fit my stepper motor, it was thinner but the old cover was still good. My stage lasted 10 years and when I disassembled it I also re-greased the gears. I rotated the gears to a new position in case the ten-year-old finish wore off; should last another ten years. Moving the gears to a new position does not affect the pitch positioning, the motor senses the operating current and stops when the current reaches its peak as the pitch enters or exits and hits the stops.
