Corner litter box. The pen is of decent quality, the box holds its shape. There are no issues with a weak lock, but it's not difficult to jam either. If someone doesn't overload it with garbage, there shouldn't be any problems. The dustpan can hang on the side, but I take it as a fallback. Good size for this, but I have a metal one that's a bit larger than I'm used to and it still works fine. The door opens easily and gently, and when there's no cat inside, it hangs inward a little, leaving a gap where you can see the litter box. I assume so the cat can see that there is something on the other side. I thought it would cause problems with too much smell but it doesn't seem to matter. Works well with any fragrance. If I don't hear them scratching the sheets, I don't even know when they're being used. As this is also my office this is a very welcome improvement over the previous box without a door. So far, excess dirt has been caught by the garbage mat, so I'm excited about that too. We have a medium sized cat and 2 small growing kittens a few months old, they can all get in and out with no problem. . If we had a large cat I would probably use a regular large/extra large square box instead of a corner box. If you're having trouble getting cats used to this, I recommend putting them next to another unlidded box first to get used to it. Then add a cover to a corner box with no door, then remove another box, then add a swinging door. Just like humans, some cats/animals adapt quickly and some are resistant to change, so train them slowly until they get where you want them to be. It's no different than two cats getting to know each other, or a cat and dog getting to know each other. You can just put them together or use an introductory tactic to make sure everything goes smoothly. I placed the boxes side by side on the new one with the door facing up. Then noticing that they were using a new one, I lowered the door and later that day/next day removed another box.
