My wife was the founder of Division 56 in our home. We actually inherited it from her mother who was an avid collector. Once we had him, I quickly became a fan. Now I look forward to building little villages around the house every year after Thanksgiving. She recently bought me this for some of our living spaces (houses etc.). At first I was very concerned because it was folded quite tightly. I figured it would curl rather than lay flat. This was only for the innermost part (maybe 1 inch). It cuts easily and stays in place when placed. I would suggest maybe buying two if you have multiple scenes you want to add it to because it didn't go as far as I can tell. This was mainly because it's pretty quick when you have to start cutting pieces to go straight to the steps. I was very impressed with how thick it is and how easy it is to lay. I would definitely recommend this to anyone with Department 56 Snow Village.
