Vision Excellent Durability Terrible

Let me first say that I do not recommend buying this product. I don't think this lens is 2 shades darker than some say, the visual effect and eye relief is amazing. The smoke from the .072 FC wire makes it difficult for me to see. I can get a 1/8" rod and have a good view of the weld. I will say that I prefer to weld with darker lenses than most of my colleagues. The amount of shadow this lens adds is a minor complaint as you can always opt for a lower shadow. I would give 1 star for the scratch resistance of this lens. It scratches just as easily as your clear overlays. In my Jackson hood, I could slide them in and out without sliding them into place. But if you wipe this lens, it will get scratched. My Fibermetal scratches every time I change the clear pads. I am now looking for a product that will clean this lens and help hide scratches to prolong its life. Polish for plastic Novus. If you have a fixed lens and you're in a clean shop I think you can service that lens, but on the spot it needs a lot of attention. I can look at the Wens lens, it also has flaws, but its color filter is gold plated and glued to the front of the welding filter, which helps protect it from scratches. I wonder how it will withstand high temperatures?

Cons
