Review on MSI Optix MAG342CQRV 3440X1440 Non-Glare Monitor: 100Hz, HDR, Curved, Adaptive Sync by Matt Liu

Revainrating 4 out of 5

A few small quirks and things that could be improved but worth it for the price.

I have 2 of these, one for my main table, the other is a Vesa installed as part of the racing simulator cockpit. What you should know is that the picture is great for a VA panel of this price. The curve is also very good for the price. The kit comes with a really good stand, if you're not fixed it's solid and adjustable. THEY DO VESA MOUNTING!: They say Vesa is compatible but WILL NOT ACTUALLY COME WITH A MOUNTING PLATE AND MSI DOESN'T SELL IT, you have to buy it separately and they don't make it clear. I had to use a mounting plate from an old TV mount that I no longer use. The buttons on the monitor are awkward to press, they require too much force, which is obviously a nitpick, but still. A displayport cable is included and you need it to get 100Hz, but an HDMI cable, which can't be as dumb as Tarnation If you're playing competitive shooters at 6 million fps, you'll have to spend more. For most standard gaming purposes it meets my needs perfectly and despite some minor flaws it's really good for the price.
