I do a little bit of everything on my home PC: surfing the web, streaming, gaming, programming, photo/video editing, light CAD work, spreadsheets, writing reviews on the things I buy. etc. I've been looking for a 21:9 panel that has the right combination of features/price/brand for YEARS but have never come across one that I've felt comfortable with; Now that I've found the MSI MAG342CQRV, I'm glad it took me so long to find it. This thing is far from perfect. Colors are bright, darks are dark enough, images don't tear or wash out, the curvature is impressive compared to the usual 36-inch screen-to-screen distance, I don't have to crane my neck to see what's inside Corner. or that, and to be honest it just looks GREAT sitting on the table. Functionally, this monitor has about 109 pixels per inch, and you need 100 or better. I work in a dimly lit area and it would bleed me a lot to notice. The buttons are in a logical position and placed under the bezel, and the menus are easy enough to navigate once you figure out how each button moves. My only gripe is that it doesn't have a USB pass-through port, which is a "nice" feature but one that most people probably won't overlook. It's a big monitor. I would be more concerned if it had a SMALL footprint! is easy to assemble and has quite a "give" in its settings where it doesn't take brute force to get the right angle, but it also doesn't rotate on its axis when you sneeze. Some reviews point to an external power cord as a downside, but I actually prefer it. The thinner cable is easier to route/hide than the standard C13 power cable, moving the most common source of failure out of the monitor and into a package that you can replace if it ever breaks. A couple of caveats when going from a dual monitor setup (like mine) to a single large panel. While I used to share apps by opening them on a specific monitor, now I have to do this by dragging the app's borders so that the app occupies a specific portion of the screen. It's not a big deal, but it required a workflow change that I hadn't thought of before purchasing. Also, most web pages aren't designed to scale to this width, and I zoom in, not because I can't see the text, but because it seems like a waste of 30cm of white space on either side. main page frame. Overall I'm very happy with this monitor, it's been a huge upgrade (literally) from my dual 1080p panels and does everything I've asked of it.
