Review on Dorman 931-304 Front Passenger Side Door Lock Actuator Motor - Perfect for Cadillac/Chevrolet/GMC Models by Paul Beach

Avoid this part - failed in less than 4 months!

===========10/5/15 Update===========My door won't open anymore. I took it to the Cadillac dealer today and they said the actuator was faulty. Accordingly, this part took less than 4 months. Judging by other reviewers, this is the topic. I would recommend avoiding this part and going with the OEM version (Genuine GM door lock 25876387, front). The dealer will charge me $550 to replace the actuator which is a pain but I'm not sure I want to mess with that myself again. Disappointing! ========================= I swapped the right hand door drive on our Cadillac Escalade drive for a Dorman 931-304 motor drive and everything went smoothly. The door works great now. My symptoms were that my front right (passenger) door lock would not always open or close with the remote control or door controller. For those of you considering a replacement, this video made it pretty easy (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gx3M90X_S_s). I bought the part from Revain for $75 and was done within an hour. After doing this once, I was able to replace the rest of the doors in 30 minutes. The hardest part was disassembling the door and inserting and removing the part. I read on some forums that dealers charge about $400 per door so I saved $325 if I did it myself (if you had to do all 4 doors you would save $1300, if you would do it alone). Please note that this part is for the engine only. You'll need to reuse all the remaining hardware from the old part, including the cable that connects to the inside door handle. It was easy to remove from the old part. The YouTube video shows the new part that comes with the cable. Just wanted to point this out as I was initially concerned when I received the part from Revain and it didn't have a cable. Thank you to those who answered my question in the Customer Q&A section to clarify reusing all the other equipment from the old part. Overall, I recommend the "Dorman 931-304 Door Lock Motor" and swapping it out myself to save hundreds of dollars. The Revain was the best price as usual and shipped 2 days later with the Prime so not only did I save a lot of money but I was able to replace it quicker than going to the dealer.
