Definitely something you'll want to buy to save money, this set is cheaper than my in-store manicure. I purchased this along with a small electric nail drill ($15) and a 48w UV lamp ($23) (needed to cure the polygel) from Amazon Prime. I will tell you that I saw an ad for polygel nails and was immediately interested. I have the ability to want to know how something is made, how it works, how it is made, etc. So yeah, my boyfriend thinks it's just one of my new obsessions/hobbies. I watched SO MANY YT videos before ordering. LonghairPrettyNails at YT even shows that you can mix some of this with gel polish and make your own poly gel color, but she made applying poly gel SO easy so I gave my nails a try. I was concerned about the bottle sizes being so small but a little goes a long way. I did maybe 2 practice nails on my 8 year old (practice on yourself or on your own personal/voluntary lab rat), they gotten so good I went ahead and made my own. What I like is not having to worry about someone casually picking at my natural nails. Just a light buff with a manual file is fine. I made them with nail forms first. They were definitely cute as hell but I could see my real nail through them too well so I added polygel and shaped it like acrylic powder with a brush and pad. I was scared to do this part but it turned out well and it needed a bit of drilling and polishing. As far as you can see the nail, yes some of them are translucent but the light apricot color can be opaque if you apply it thick enough and it really is a lovely natural nude pink. and nude, light pink and white are also opaque. Anyway, they were AMAZING. I did them better than most nail techs I've gone to. DON'T MISS BASE COAT. I forgot it on a nail and it popped out in about an hour. Overall, it's definitely worth every penny. I get compliments and my sister doesn't believe me when I say I did it myself. I've even had a few people willing to pay me to make them after talking about how light they are and how they don't break. I will definitely practice more and buy more! Update: I'm not sure when I first posted my review, but it's July 7th and the nails are still holding up well. Maybe the ladies who say their hair breaks aren't treating it long enough!? The Idk shafts are holding up well so don't give up and don't waste your dollars. Here's how I applied mine. Try sticking a nail on it and just dry it under UV light for some time, maybe 20-30 seconds, repeat until all nails are on that hand. Try to cure for 2 minutes, then turn your hand to the other side and let it cure for 2 minutes. Add what you will be applying above (polishing, protective coating, etc.) and allow to cure for 1 minute.
