. I recently bought a new 2020 Mac Mini with the idea of using my old 2010 iMac as a display. The Mac clerk at the retail store where I bought the Mac Mini (not an Apple Store but from a licensed retailer) told me that this wasn't possible since new Macs have the new M1 chip and it no mac will be compatible. as old as mine. I really didn't want to spend more money on a new monitor, but I figured I had no choice. Just before I was about to make a purchase, I came across some reviews on this product that mentioned I would use it with a MacBook the same age as my iMac. I still wasn't sure if this would work, but for the price of the cable I decided to give it a try. IT WORKS OUT! Sometimes I have to disconnect and reconnect the cable from my MacMini when my iMac goes to sleep, but other than that it works great! I was very happy with this product. It really saved me from having to shell out another $300 for a new monitor. THANK YOU SO MUCH!
