Review on Sabine Lipperts Beaded Fantasies Beadweaving by Denise Davis

Just unbelievable!

I pre-ordered this book a few months ago and was excited for its release - and it didn't disappoint! Of the thirty projects included, I want to do every detail - they are so beautiful! The book is divided into several chapters: - Chapter 1: Materials and Methods - Chapter 2: Decorated Bases - includes a necklace, earring and five bracelet designs - Chapter 3: Studded Stones - includes a necklace, two chokers, two bracelets, two earrings and three pendant designs - Chapter 4: Matters of Architecture - contains three earrings, a necklace, two pendants and a bracelet design - Chapter 5: Bead Centers - contains three necklaces, a brooch, an earring and a bracelet design - Chapter 6: Sabination Nation - Chapters continue on how Sabin creates his designs -- Gallery -- Beautiful photos of designs by other bead artists -- Authors gallery -- Photos of Lippert's designs include projects. Some are more complex than others, and the title for each project gives a rough idea of how simple or complex each can be. Lippert mainly uses Grid Overlay RAW options, but she also includes an overview of peyote and some other stitches in the Techniques chapter. As with previous books in the Lark Master Class series, the instructions are as excellent as the diagrams. I've done one of Lippert's projects before and found her instructions clear and easy to follow, and this book follows suit. Each project also includes a clearly marked list of supplies and the final size of the product. Although the actual bead color number is not listed, it should be easy to identify a similar bead color to use in accordance with the suggested color schemes. When using Swarvoski crystals and polished pearls, color is transferred in a general way. (For example, the mailing list would say something like "30 gold-orange crystal bicones, 4mm.") I also like the Lark hardcover book format; much easier to embroider with beads than the paperbacks, which always seem to me to expire. All in all, this is a great book to add to your beading library! The only problem for me is that I love all projects so much I don't know where to start! ;-) It should be easy to identify a similar bead color to use according to the suggested color schemes.
