I bought this laptop to replace a Chromebook. I've never liked a Chromebook, so I decided to try the MS book instead. All I use it for is streaming and some messaging. This G7 has a good weight and feels solid. It has a quality feel. I like the 12g of RAM and the 1080p display. I like the backlit keyboard and the screen size. The keyboard has a pleasant feel. The processor is a bit more powerful than others, which I think was an issue with Chromebooks, so I upped my purchase to a G7 to get a 5100. The power cord is short but I used the C connector as that cord is much longer and it seemed to work. The big downside is the battery life. Last night I charged to 100% and listened to the radio stream for 20 minutes. There is no video. Turned it off, which turned off the computer, and went to bed. I woke up and started surfing. I was on for about 2-2.5 hours and did nothing but read the sites static text. news sites. Yahoo etc and the battery is below 60%. In less than 3 hours of viewing on a full charge and the absolute absence of video, the battery drops by 59%. I have my screen brightness set to less than half and it's constantly on sleep mode. I must have gotten a dead battery because 10000 MH should last longer. Streaming videos drop it like a stone. 20 minutes of stream sat down to 10% of the battery. Too bad it's coming back, otherwise it's a good notebook.
