I bought this through Olympus because the Olympus documentation wasn't clear if it works on Win 8.1 or not , he said yes. I had an Olympus a few years ago and loved it. I don't like the pedal layout as much as the old one. The middle one is too small, so it's too easy to accidentally step on the side pedals to turn it on or off. (My wife uses it 95% of the time and she doesn't complain about it). My biggest problem is that I installed the software on my laptop to try it out and then installed it on my wife's computer. It said it couldn't find the license so I followed all the instructions to remove it from my laptop and free the license. However, I still cannot open the program on my wife's computer. It just says license not found and kicks me out. There is no way to open and enter the product key. Here's a real kicker. Philips Help is only open until 9am ET about 3-4 hours a day (I'm on the west coast so I had to call until 6am). The person who answered the call couldn't solve a simple license issue (e.g. resetting) and I got a call back a few days later. I couldn't be reached so they left a message. I couldn't contact them anymore so I had to buy a third party software (NCH Express Scribe) which keeps blocking the computer. I'm anything but happy. Too bad I didn't leave Olympus.
