Works great for what I needed it for. I wanted to connect my old (15 year old) CD player to my new 7.1 surround sound system. The CD player only had speaker wire outlets, and the surround sound system only accepted digital optical audio cables, HDMI, or RCA cables. I used this and it worked great with excellent sound quality from a CD player. It's also so small that it's well hidden even behind my small CD player. For the price it's worth trying. I think it's mainly intended for car audio systems, but it worked great for my needs. I'm sure for turntables or other stereo systems converting the speaker wire to RCA would be just as good. I don't listen to many CDs anymore, but it's nice to be able to.
