Review on XENTEC Ultra White HID Xenon Bulb Pair (H11/H8/H9) 6000K by Jerry Amos

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Not comparable to other HID 6000k lamps. Buyer Warning.

As a prelude I'll use this with a 35W H11 conversion kit, relay harness and capacitor. They are installed in factory (halogen) projector housings, with the lamp mounting plates modified so that the filament points downwards (because H11b lamps are difficult to access). ) a shell with no protection other than the foam covers on the bulbs themselves. In terms of functionality, I had no trouble activating them. However, once they were fully warmed up, the power wasn't very bright on most of the roads I drove, and completely useless in the wet (the road wasn't lit). The color temperature was definitely not what I am used to from 6000k ("cold white"; white/blue). Instead they had a very predominant turquoise tone (mostly washed out turquoise white), especially compared to my "pure white" LED headlights. In any case, they are a far cry from what is advertised in the product name ("Ultra White"). That being said I immediately regretted my purchase but had to use them until I got a replacement (from a completely different company/brand) from Revain. Another comment you may have seen that I came across was that there is NO built in rubber grommet. I find this ridiculous as most people using H11 bulbs with a conversion kit have dust plates that need to be drilled to power the ignition wires and route the wire to the relay harness. I am very disappointed, I will not buy lamps from this brand again.

Pros
  • Absolute legend
Cons
  • Mostly good, but...
