If you have a large project to do with lots of cutouts or lots of cutouts - BUY IT NOW!

This product is AMAZING if you've never used an electric cutter before! It's not intended for heavy use, so if you're after something industrial, try another more expensive product. However, if you just need a less tedious way to cut a large amount of fabric, this is the magic wand. More precisely, a craftsman. ;) I had a few hundred yards of fabric that I had to cut to make double linings, 15ft curtains and curtains. However, this allowed us to mark a 15-foot section on the floor with tape. Flatten the fabric a little, press down, and then simply walk back and forth on the 15-foot start mark and unroll the rolls of fabric. Cloth, so there were multiple layers, each about 15 feet long, all stacked on top of each other. Then all we had to do was staple or pinch the ends together. At each end, draw a straight line exactly 15 feet apart. .and run the cutter around the edge so all the pieces are EXACTLY the same size with a clean, beautiful cut. It was wonderful! (And considering the alternative was to cut 70 pieces of fabric with scissors. Well, I'll say it again, it was AMAZING. :)) The product is easy to use, but there's one thing you can do should note. With a large stack of fabric, it was a bit difficult to shorten the guide. We left it cutting - just making sure our hands and fingers were WAY out of the way. (NB: This is probably not the recommended way to do this - and it's DEFINITELY dangerous unless you're VERY careful where your hands, clothes, etc are: it's SHARP and fast and you can do serious damage, almost before you know it you know, as with any sharp power tool.) One thing that confused me before buying is how they protect the surface you are on. The metal plate you see in the photo actually slides UNDER the fabric you are cutting and the blade is always above the metal plate so the only thing ever touching your work surface is the underside of the smooth metal plate. I bought another, more expensive cutter at the same time as this one. Because the more expensive one had top-notch customer service and felt less risky overall than this one, but the price was too good for me not to at least try. And I didn't even open the more expensive one: I just sent it back because that one did everything I needed. :)

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
