So far, so good! I'm new to aquariums but chose this one over the Fluval Edge because of the rounded corners - love the look. Remember that the filter flow is STRONG. If you have a fish like the fighting cock that doesn't like strong currents, it's a good idea to plug the filter drain with a sponge or something else. Not difficult - I did a DIY job using a pre-filter sponge that I cut to size and thickness and just slipped over the filter outlet. Works great. Additionally, if you are using a sand bed, I recommend using a pre-filter sponge in the filter housing to keep the sand from clogging the filter. Mine eventually started to choke but I had a sponge filter so I put that in and no more problems. I like the overhead light - it illuminates the clear glass cover and gives enough light for the plants. It also features a moonlight/blacklight setting that makes white fish, glowing fish, or glowing decorations look amazing. Or if your fish has weird eye patches like mine, it can make their eyes light up in a really frightening way. Oh another warning to Betta owners, due to the curved corners of the tank the lid doesn't offer full coverage - the 2 curved corners have just under a quarter space so if your fish can jump it's a hazard! My fish actually jumped out once and I think it was through one of those spots so plan accordingly. Don't worry - Franky survived this adventure. But that's how he got his glowing eyespots and later nickname Frankenfish. I still give the tank 5 stars - it's very pretty and while not exactly made for bettas, it's still a very good quality tank that my fish will thrive in.
